La mujer sufre quemaduras en Fire Grass Small
October 25th, 2012At approximately 5:00pm on October 24th fire crews responded to a report of a vegetation fire on the De Anza Trail in the vicinity of Tiki Lane in Pittsburg. The first crew to arrive observed a small grass and brush fire in a drainage just off the main trail. Upon further size up of the incident, a woman was found sitting in the drainage about 100 feet away from the fire, suffering from burn injuries. An ambulance was requested to the scene while firefighter/paramedics assessed and treated her injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and then later transferred to a burn unit with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on approximately 18% of her body. The fire was contained to less than 1/4 acre of grass and portions of a homeless encampment. An investigation was initiated by our Fire Investigation Unit as a possible arson caused fire. Information was developed at the scene leading to possible suspects.
