Fully Involved Structure – Walnut Creek
June 18th, 2013The Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a fire in a single story home at 1824 Sunnyvale Ave. in Walnut Creek at 4:49 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18th. The first arriving crew from just a few blocks away arrived to find a single family home fully involved in fire. There were no occupants at home at the time as the home was under renovation.
A total of 18 firefighters from four engines and one ladder truck from Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Walnut Creek were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes of their arrival. The involved home sustained major damage but firefighters were able to save neighboring homes from being damaged by the heavy fire involvement of the home. Damage was estimated at $250,000.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
