Antioch House Fire Displaces Residents
December 13th, 2013At 11:27 PM last night on December 12th crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a structure fire at 405 Minner Ave in Antioch. Upon arrival the first engine found a fully involved travel trailer on the side of the house. Fire had also extended into the attic of the adjacent home as well as a fence on the side yard. All of the occupants made it safely out of the house and subsequent searches found nobody inside either the house or the trailer. The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes. Five engines, two battalion chiefs, and one fire investigator responded to this incident. An aggressive interior fire attack by the fire crews enabled the fire spread to be stopped in the rear corner of the house. The travel trailer was a total loss.
There were no injuries to firefighters or the residents of the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The residents are displaced, but were able to make their own arrangements for a place to stay.
