The Contra Costa Pool Safety Council presents a fun and informative afternoon at the Prewett Family Water Park in Antioch, including:
• REACH helicopter landing, aircraft tour, meet the crew
• Fire engine and ambulance displays and tours
• Lifeguard rescue relay races
• CPR demonstrations
• Learning activities for kids and parents
Since 2006 the Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to 23 drowning or near-drowning incidents, resulting in 10 deaths and 13 saved lives. To prevent injury and loss of life due to drowning and near-drowning incidents, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District established a Pool Safety Council in September 2009.
The vision of the Pool Safety Council is to lead an organized and focused drowning education and prevention effort in Contra Costa County that will reduce child drowning incidents.
There is a $12 entrance fee.
