Ladders up at this working fire in Walnut Creek
At 0430 hours this morning CCCFPD fire crews were dispatched to a commercial structure fire at a former and now vacant restaurant in Walnut Creek. Upon arrival crews observed heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the restaurant. Fire crews went to the roof to ventilate the building and quickly exited due to the amount of time the fire had been burning. Defensive/exterior firefighting operations were set up for safety reasons and crews stayed on scene until later in the morning to ensure there was no fire burning in any void spaces. Fire crews from Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Martinez assisted in the fire.
