Fire crews are working a single alarm residential structure fire in the 700 block of Rincon Rd. in unincorporated El Sobrante. Initial reports of the first arriving crews were heavy smoke and fire coming from the attic and rear of the home. There were reports of two occupants in the home at the time of the fire, however the primary search of the home by was signaled “all clear” by firefighters – nobody was inside the home. Fire crews took to the roof of the home to cut holes in the roof to ventilate the roof as part of the firefighting effort. The fire was brought under control within approximately 30 minutes into the firefighting effort. Two dogs were found alive inside the home and brought outside by firefighters.
Fire crews from Richmond and Pinole FDs are assisting.
There are no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation – a fire investigator is responding to the fire. There are no damage estimates at this time. Check back for details.
