Fire Guts Interior of San Pablo Home
June 21st, 2012Firefighters arrived at the home in the 2300 block of Dover Avenue of San Pablo at 2:17 pm to find smoke and flames coming from the inside of the residence. A 7 year old girl residing in the home woke up her aunt, sleeping in one of the bedrooms, and notified her mother of the fire. The home was equipped with smoke alarms, however none were working at the time of the fire. Firefighters stretched hoses into the home to extinguish the fire while crews cut holes in the roof to provide ventilation of the hot gasses inside. Eighteen firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes of arrival and fire crews rescued one dog “Cheeky” from the home. The home suffered extensive damage inside, as the photos show, and the 2 adults and 3 children who resided in the home were displaced by the fire. The displaced residents will be staying with family members in the area. The cause of the fire was accidental.
