Man Rescued from Walnut Creek House Fire

Firefighters working on the roof to gain access to the attic space and firefighters preparing to re-enter the structure after just rescuing a man from inside.
The fire was well established in the attic and firefighters cut ventilation holes to gain access to the attic space. The fire was brought under control in 23 minutes with a first alarm assignment of five companies with fifteen firefighters, two Battalion Chiefs, and one safety officer. A fire investigator was also called to the scene. The fire cause is believed to be accidental.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
