11 Displaced in Structure Fire on Peachtree Circle in Pittsburg

Fire crews responded to a report of a fire in a single story home in the 2100 block of Peachtree Circle at 1:59pm today. A large column of black smoke was seen as units responded. Engine 87 from Pittsburg was first on scene and reported the garage of the home well involved with fire including two cars. Subsequent units from Pittsburg, Bay Point, and Antioch along with a Breathing Support unit from Walnut Creek assisted in the one alarm fire. The fire progressed into the attic of the home and was brought under control within 30 minutes. During the active fire, smoke could easily be seen from Highway 4.
No injuries were reported and the home suffered siginificant damage. The cause of the fire was accidental. Six adults and five children were displaced by the fire. They were being assisted by the American Red Cross for temporary housing.
